Mission statement

A history:

The SMÉ was founded in 1921 by the bishops of the French Canadian Church to contribute to the proclamation of the Gospel to all nations and to effectively be in solidarity with other Churches and other peoples, by sharing with them its spiritual and human resources. It became international in 1997.

Who are we?

THE QUEBEC FOREIGN MISSION SOCIETY is an international missionary Society composed of priests, associate priests and lay people.

WE ARE AT THE SERVICE OF THE GOSPEL to proclaim the Good News to the peoples of the world so that they may have life in abundance in Jesus-Christ.

WE PROCLAIM THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS-CHRIST

• by committing ourselves in the promotion of justice communities
• by building living and missionary Christian
• by giving testimony to the Gospel, groups and peoples with whom we share life,
• by welcoming the cultural and religious values of
