CODE OF ETHICS

CODE OF ETHICS GUIDE

As servants of the Gospel, and the Foreign Mission Society of Quebec, we distinguish ourselves not only by our work and our particular charisms within the Church, but also and especially through the witness of our life. Our entire life must reflect the message we proclaim, as well as the values we advocate (LP 72).

we are dedicated to ensuring the well-being and overall wellness of all our members, missionary associates, temporal members, candidates and employees. We hold respect for the individual as one of our fundamental values, and therefore, we expect every person who works within the SME community in any country to uphold these values.

Few years ago as a Society, we implemented a Code of Ethics to ensure a healthy work environment and our focus is on prevention, accountability and the prompt resolution of arising issues. We believe that this will help us to maintain a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

This code of ethics is designed to assist those in positions of responsibility at the SME who may encounter situations of abuse. Our aim is to provide comprehensive information about assaults and abuses against minors and vulnerable individuals, and to encourage shared responsibility for protecting these individuals.

We have also prepared a summary guide of our code of ethics, which is available below, for those with whom we work in mission and also the public to read and download.

For of all our members, missionary associates, temporal members, candidates and employees, the Code of Ethics is available via the intranet link.
