Mario De Celles

De Celles Mario, p.m.é.

Father Mario De Celles, a priest of the Foreign Missions Society, died in Laval on July 18, 2021 at the age of 92. Born in St-Marc-sur-Richelieu on July 7, 1929, he was the son of Joseph-Auguste De Celles and Gertrude Turcotte. He did his secondary studies at the Externat Ste-Croix and at the Collège Marie-Médiatrice, then his theological studies at the Grand Séminaire des Missions-Étrangères de Pont-Viau. Ordained a priest on 29 June 1957, he left on 12 September 1958 for Honduras, where he worked as a missionary until 2013. At the time of his death, he was retired in Pont-Viau.

He is survived by his missionary confreres, his niece Constance Rochon Vaillancourt (Rosaire), his nephews Germain Rochon (Nicole Meunier), Mario McInally (Gudrun) as well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
