World Day of Prayer for Vocations
Prayer Meeting
On the occasion of the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, the Missionary Animation Service of the Quebec Foreign Mission (SME in French) organized two virtual prayer meetings for vocations. The central theme of both meetings was the message of Pope Francis for the 61st World Day of Prayer for Vocations, with the motto: "Called to sow hope and build peace".
The first meeting took place on April 23, with the participation of members, laypeople, affiliates, and friends of the SME in Latin America. At this moment of prayer, we highlighted the presence of young people from different countries, which was a great richness in sharing. Listening to the joys, dreams, and projects of each of the individuals who participated filled us with hope. Being witnesses of the work of the Holy Spirit that continues to act in the hearts of our young people is a source of hope and joy.
The second meeting took place on April 26, with the participation of members, laypeople, mission partners, seminarians, and candidates from the SME in the Asia and Africa sector. The richness of this meeting lay in the sharing of our missionaries who shared the richness of their experience in the mission, especially emphasizing the joy of the call, which endures through years of missionary service. This sharing has certainly been very enriching for the candidates in formation, as it is a source of inspiration for those beginning their journey in missionary service.
We thank the Lord for these moments of prayer as the SME family, and we thank all those who made this special moment of encounter with the One who called us and accompanies us every day in the different places where we are.
