Missionary Sending of Ana Marisela Calderón Mejilla
to Cambodia
On March 8, the sending Mass of Ana Marisela Calderón Mejilla, a Salvadoran lay missionary associated with the Quebec Foreign Mission Society (QFMS), was celebrated with great joy. She will soon be sent on mission to Cambodia.
The Eucharistic celebration took place at the parish of Saint Mary Immaculate of the Miraculous Medal, located in the community of Las Casitas, Diocese of Santa Ana, El Salvador. It brought together the various parish communities in an atmosphere of faith, communion, and missionary sending.
Among those present were the parish priest, Father Álvaro Molina; the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in El Salvador, Father Cristóbal Zabala; as well as members, associates, and collaborators of the QFMS, together with several pastoral agents of PMS El Salvador.
During the Eucharist, Ana Marisela received the Missionary Cross commemorating Saint Óscar Arnulfo Romero, Salvadoran bishop and martyr, a visible sign of her commitment and dedication to proclaiming the Gospel beyond borders.
This meaningful moment marks the beginning of a new stage in her missionary journey, in which she will be sent to share life, faith, and hope with the Cambodian people.
As a missionary community, we entrust Ana Marisela to the intercession of our Mother, the Virgin Mary, that she may accompany, protect, and strengthen her in this mission that begins today.
