103rd ANNIVERSARY of FOUNDATION

On 2nd February 2024, Our Society will be celebrating its 103rd anniversary of foundation. This momentous occasion presents a wonderful opportunity to express our gratitude for the remarkable progress we have made in the last years. At  Central House in Laval, the anniversary celebration will be presided over by the esteemed Mgr Martin Laliberté, President of the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Québec, on Friday, February 02, 2024.

Joint Pastoral Letter.

The members of the Assembly of Quebec Bishops (AECQ) were welcomed at the central house on September 17, 2021. On that day, a joint pastoral letter from the Assembly of Quebec Catholic Bishops and the Foreign Missions Society (AECQ-FMS) was unveiled, on the occasion of the centennial of its founding. This letter, called and sent to serve the joy of the Gospel, was made public during the Eucharistic celebration.

To speak of "mission" evokes the image of courageous men and women who went to the four corners of the world to help the poor and announce the Good News of the Kingdom of God. The missionaries of Quebec have generously fulfilled this call. In addition to their eloquent successes, we know today that their encounters with the other were not always up to what was desired. Without denying the errors of the past, but seeking to learn from them, we are convinced that God is still calling us to go to the other to communicate the joy of the Gospel which is expressed in truth, in justice and in love....


 - "Mission requires above all mature witnesses, well rooted in their faith and in touch with reality, with the capacity to understand, the gentleness to sympathize as well as the courage to be indignant."
